Phoenicia Honey Company: Sweet infused raw honey to sweeten your palate
From Hudson Valley Good Stuff:
Phoenicia Honey Company, invited Hudson Valley Good Stuff to a private honey tasting in uptown Kingston at Chill Media North, Confession: I have loved honey since I was a kid. I once snuck off with an entire teddy bear plastic bottle of honey and consumed it in one sitting. So, of course, I was eager to taste the new honey creations from Phoenicia Honey.
I tasted four Phoenicia Honey Co products: Signature Lavender Honey, the Chai Spice Infused Local Raw Honey, Cinnamon and Star Anise Infused Wildflower honey, Mint, Lemon Balm and Tulsi infused honey. ingredients for the honey products are sourced locally. She uses a Hudson Valley raw honey distributor as a base and then infuses the honey with different flowers and herbs. I would be happy to take all these jars home with me, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the Chai Spiced Infused Honey raw honey, which would be perfect in a cup of hot or oatmeal. The Lavender one is lovely too, and isn’t overly sweet. It’s light and would be a nice touch to anything in your kitchen or your life that requires honey.
The honeys have become very popular via word of mouth on social media, and local markets and vendors. You can purchase the products online and check out the Phoenicia Honey Company’s website for stores in the Hudson Valley who carry it. A jar of honey costs $9, and makes a great holiday gift for the foodie on your list. I haven’t tried it, but I’m sure my skin could use their Lavender Infused Honey and Sugar scrub. I’ll have to drop Santa Claus a hint.. Last week she added honey-infused cocktail syrups to her honey repertoire. The syrups are only sold at Bumble & Hive in Rhinebeck, and at different local fairs/markets where Elissa Jane Mastel sells her goodies. Follow Phoenicia Honey Company on Facebook to find out more.
